Warriors fall to Susquehanna

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. -  The Lycoming College men's tennis team fell, 7-0, in a Landmark Conference match against Susquehanna University on Saturday afternoon, March 29, at Brandon Park.  

Junior Josh Neidert (Reading, Pa. / Oley Valley) and senior Matthew Baldridge (Damascus, Md. / Damascus) competed in a tight 6-4 No. 1 doubles match against Susquehanna's Logan Rauschenberger and Tyler Hester. Seniors Mohamed Ebeid (Cairo, Egypt / Egyptian British International School) and Luke Taylor (Williamsport, Pa. / Word of Life Bible Institute) also rallied in a close 6-3 No. 3 doubles match against the River Hawks' Eli Markle and Jack Thon. 

First-year Kayvan Shams (Williamsport, Pa. / South Williamsport) won his first set of No. 4 singles against Susquehanna's Nathan Bassett, 6-3. Bassett took the win in the second set with a 6-4 finish and followed up with a victory during the third tiebreaker set, 12-10. 

Sophomore Thomas Andersen (Wenonah, N.J. / Deptford Township) and first-year Logan Hammond (Williamsport, Pa. / Loyalsock Township) also competed against Susquehanna. 
 
The Warriors return to the Brandon Park Tennis Courts on Thursday, April 3, at 3:30 p.m. for non-conference action against Lancaster Bible College.
