WESTMINSTER, Md. - Senior Sarah Lanphear (Chittenango, N.Y. / Chittenango), junior Emma Kelchner (Nescopeck, Pa. / Central Columbia) and first-year Sadie Stahl (Duboistown, Pa. / South Williamsport) each won their singles and doubles matches to lead the Lycoming College women's tennis team to a 5-2 victory over McDaniel College in non-conference action on Sunday afternoon, March 23.
In No. 2 singles, Kelchner secured a 6-4, 6-0 win over McDaniel's Liliana Overcash, bringing in the first singles point for the Warriors (8-3 overall, 0-3 Landmark). Senior Rei Saar (Montoursville, Pa. / Montoursville Area) joined Kelchner in No. 1 doubles to claim a 6-4 win over Stephanie Buttons and Overcash.
Stahl swept her No. 3 singles match (6-0, 6-0) against Mackenzie McCarter. Lanphear secured the fourth point of the match at No. 4 singles, claiming a 6-1, 6-0 victory against McDaniel's Nakayla Lawson, and junior Cassandra Conner (Lebanon, Pa. / Lebanon) also won by default at No. 6 singles.
Earlier in the day, Stahl and Lanphear teamed up to win their No. 2 doubles match, 6-1, against Lawson and McCarter.
The Warriors return to the Brandon Park Tennis Courts on Saturday, March 29, for Landmark Conference action against Susquehanna University at 1 p.m.
