Warriors move to 12-0 with 3-1 win

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — A pair of first-half goals set the pace as the Lycoming College women's soccer team improved its program-record undefeated start to 12 wins with a 3-1 Landmark Conference victory over Drew University on Saturday, Oct. 4 at UPMC Field.

Lycoming (12-0, 2-0) won their first home conference game, maintaining a multi-goal advantage the entire second half to keep Drew (4-3-3, 1-1-0) at bay, defeating the Rangers by an identical 3-1 score for the second year in a row.

The Warriors took the lead in the 8th minute when junior Ella Magee (Selinsgrove, Pa. / Selinsgrove Area) buried a free kick into the right side of the net, her conference-high 14th of the season, as she moved within three points of the single-season record of 40 set by Jordan Lazarich in 2016. At the 39th minute, the Warriors doubled the lead when junior Norah Mosley (Robbinsville, N.J. / Allentown) drilled a corner kick off the fingertips of the keeper and into the top right corner of the net for her fifth goal of the campaign, giving the Warriors a 2-0 lead at the break.

Shortly after halftime, senior Abigail Umhoefer snuck one past goal in the 47th minute off a pass from senior Audrey Williamson (Lititz, Pa. / Warwick), boosting the lead to three goals. Umhoefer's goal was her third of the year, while Williamson extended her own school record with her 23rd career assist.

Drew did respond with a Ella Reyngoudt goal in the 74th minute off a corner kick from Kristina Love. That was it, though, as senior keeper Riley Block (Hopatcong, N.J. / Morris Catholic) kept everything else in front of her in a 3-1 victory, finishing with seven saves.

The Warriors will be back in action at home on Tuesday, Oct. 7 vs. Scranton. Kickoff at UPMC Field will be at 7 p.m.
