SELINSGROVE, Pa.—The Lycoming College field hockey team were knotted up through three quarters with second-place Susquehanna University, but a pair of fourth-quarter tallies sent Susquehanna to a 3-1 Landmark Conference victory on Saturday, Oct. 25 at Sassafras Field.
Susquehanna (11-7, 7-1) scored twice in less than three minutes early in the final period to outlast Lycoming (10-5, 4-4) in the penultimate match of the 2025 regular season.
After a scoreless first period, the River Hawks took the lead with just nine seconds to go in the first half, when Haley Dreisbach found the cage off a pass from Taylor Rothermel.
The Warriors made their first shot count, with sophomore Lacy Eckard (Muncy, Pa. / Muncy) taking a pass from senior Riley Marines (East Berlin, Pa. / Bermudian Springs) and scoring her sixth goal of the year, tying the game at one just over ten minutes after halftime.
In the fourth, though, Susquehanna broke the deadlock with a penalty shot goal from Hannah Garlin at 48:41 mark. Barely two minutes later, Emma Campitelli added an insurance goal off a pass from Mady Quigley, providing the final margin in a 3-1 Susquehanna win.
Lycoming senior keeper Isabella Bobé (York Springs, Pa. / Bermudian Springs) recorded 11 saves.
The Warriors will return home for the final match of the 2025 regular season, taking on Wilkes College and needing a win to clinch a Landmark Conference Championship berth, on Wednesday, Oct. 29 at UPMC Field. The match will begin at 7 p.m.
