Warriors notch fifth shutout at Juniata

HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Lycoming College men's soccer team stayed in the race for one of the six Landmark Conference Championship berths thanks to a 0-0 draw with fourth-place Juniata College on Tuesday night, Oct. 21, at Gibbel Stadium.
 
With two regular-season games remaining, the Warriors (4-6-5 overall, 1-3-3 Landmark) have six points in the conference standings, three behind Goucher College in the sixth and final championship slot.
 
Sophomore Jace Bennett (Falling Waters, W.Va./Spring Mills) stopped four shots in his fifth shutout of the year, as Juniata (7-3-7 overall, 2-1-4 overall) took 14 shots in the game. Maxwell Mattoni stopped five for the Eagles, as Lycoming fired 17 in the game.
 
Both teams had six corner kicks.
 
The Warriors are back in action on Saturday, Oct. 25, when they host Susquehanna University, tied for the Warriors in seventh place in the Landmark Conference, in the annual Battle for the Boot at 3:30 p.m. at UPMC Field.
