Bennett earns Landmark Defensive Athlete of the Week honors

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Starting his career with a pair of shutouts to help the Lycoming College men's soccer team to the Herb Lauffer Memorial Tournament title at Penn State-Behrend has helped first-year goalkeeper Jace Bennett (Falling Waters, W.Va./Spring Mills) earn his first career Landmark Conference Defensive Athlete of the Week award, the conference office announced on Tuesday, Sept. 3.

Bennett served as the backline of a brilliant Warrior defense that allowed 11 shots in their first two games of the year, stopping all six shots that came between the pipes. He stopped three shots in a 1-0 win over Baldwin-Wallace and three more in a 2-0 win over Penn State-Behrend, which was a finalist in the 2023 ECAC Championship.

Bennett is the first Warrior to earn the Landmark Conference's Defensive Athlete of the Week award since Nick Wilke '24 earned the award on Oct. 16, 2023.

The Warriors are back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 4, when they host Mount Aloysius in non-conference action at 7 p.m. at UPMC Field.
