WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - The Lycoming College women's tennis team won all of its doubles and singles matches against Cedar Crest at the Brandon Park Tennis Courts on Friday, Sept. 27, securing a 7-0 team victory.
First-years Sadie Stahl (Duboistown, Pa. / South Williamsport) (No. 4), Reyna Kirick (Mifflinburg, Pa. / Mifflinburg Area) (No. 6), junior Greta Kimble (South Williamsport, Pa. / South Williamsport) (No. 5), and senior Rei Saar (Montoursville, Pa. / Montoursville Area) (No. 1) won their respective singles matches with 6-0, 6-0 victories over Cedar Crest.
Junior Emma Kelchner (Nescopeck, Pa. / Central Columbia) notched a 6-1, 6-0 victory against Cedar Crest's Corinne O'Connor in No. 2 singles. In No. 3 singles, senior Sarah Lanphear (Chittenango, N.Y. / Chittenango) followed suit with a 6-0, 6-3 win against Grace Huff.
Winning all three doubles matches, the Warriors secured their first point against the Falcons.
Saar and Kelchner secured a 6-1 win against Raury Barnard and Huff in No. 1 doubles. In No. 2 play, Lanphear and Stahl notched a 6-1 victory over O'Connor and Cam Beverage.
Kimble and junior Cassandra Conner (Lebanon, Pa. / Lebanon) also swept 6-0 in No. 3 doubles against Cedar Crest's Aleice Cherry and Gracelynn Pauley.
The Warriors travel to Wilkes-Barre, Pa., on Thursday, Oct. 3, for a competition against King's College at 3 p.m.
