Warriors roar past King’s, 5-2

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – Four members of the Lycoming College women's tennis team won both their singles and doubles matches to help it down King's College, 5-2, in non-conference action at Kirby Park on Thursday, Oct. 3.
 
The No. 2 doubles team of senior Sarah Lanphear (Chittenango, N.Y./Chittenango) and first-year Sadie Stahl (South Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport) posted a 6-1 win over Sarah Stettler and Alexis Turayev before Lanphear beat Stettler, 6-4, 6-0, at No. 3 singles and Stahl beat Turayev, 6-0, 6-1 at No. 4.
 
Juniors Cassandra Conner (Lebanon, Pa./Lebanon) and Greta Kimble (South Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport)added a 6-0 win over Betsy Allen and Morgan Eisworth at No. 3 doubles before Kimble downed Eisworth, 6-2, 6-0 at No. 5 singles and Conner beat Allen, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 6 singles.
 
Senior Rei Saar (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville Area) and junior Emma Kelchner (Nescopeck, Pa./Central Columbia) also defeated Ashley Kenia and Carlee Dellose, 6-2, at No. 1 doubles.
 
Lycoming improved to 6-1 overall and King's fell to 0-1.
 
The Warriors get back on the court on Saturday, Oct. 5, when they host Moravian University in Landmark Conference action at Brandon Park at 1 p.m.
