DOYLESTOWN, Pa. – Down by six points late in the fourth set, the Lycoming College volleyball team rushed on a run of six straight points and used the momentum to overwhelm Delaware Valley University in the fifth set and post a 3-2 (27-29, 25-15, 23-25, 25-23, 15-9) non-conference win to cap a tri-match at James Work Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 21.

Brynne Bisel (Julian, Pa./Bald Eagle Area) led the Warriors (4-7 overall) with 15 kills, 22 digs and two blocks. Sophomore
Ima Mercado (Mifflintown, Pa./Juniata) added 19 assists, eight digs and an ace, senior
Ali Koval (Mansfield, Pa./North Penn-Mansfield) added 30 digs and four aces and junior
Cameron Upcraft (Spring Mills, Pa./Penns Valley) posted 10 blocks and six kills. Sophomore
Caroline Colucci (Denville, N.J./Roxbury) added seven kills and two blocks.

Kendall Myers (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Trinity) posted a kill before Bisel tied it with a kill. Tied at 23 later, the Warriors got a pair of points to head into the deciding fifth set.

Tied at four in the fifth set, Mercado and Koval led the team on a 9-2 run, and Upcraft got her second solo block of the set to help the Warriors clinch the set, after they posted six kills and no attack errors in the period.

The Aggies (4-7 overall) were led by 14 kills and 15 digs from Madison Alexander, 13 kills and 24 digs from Grace Kane and 12 kills and five blocks from Emma Helverson. Hannah Brennan posted 22 assists and Grace Wilson had 31 digs.

The match featured 34 ties and 14 lead changes.

Albright (9-2 overall) posted 11 kills in each set and held Lycoming to a negative hitting percentage en route to a 3-0 (25-21, 25-13, 25-15) win in the first match of the day.

Neve Straff had 10 kills and 10 digs for the Lions, Sophie Hampton added 17 digs and Lindsey Korn added 15. Paola Mejias notched 30 assists and Rachel Etim posted four aces and five blocks.

The Warriors are back in action with another tri-match on Sunday, Sept. 29, when they head to Alfred State to face SUNY Delhi at 1 p.m. and the host Pioneers at 3 p.m.
