Warriors fall to Etown in Landmark opener

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – Despite outshooting Elizabethtown College by three shots, including a 10-shot second quarter and adding nine penalty corners in the game, the Lycoming College field hockey team fell, 1-0, in the Landmark Conference opener on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 21, at Wolf Field.
 
Junior Isabella Bobé (York Springs, Pa. / Bermudian Springs) stopped 12 shots in the effort for the Warriors (4-3 overall, 0-1 Landmark), while senior Halie Woodring (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) led the team with eight shots, as Lycoming held a 16-13 advantage in the category.
 
Meadow Keet scored the lone goal for the Blue Jays (4-3 overall, 1-0 Landmark), finding the net in the fourth minute.
 
Angelina Giglio-Tos stopped 10 shots in the shutout.
 
The Warriors return to UPMC Field after four games on the road when they host Albright College on Wednesday, Sept. 25, at 4 p.m.
