Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Warriors win second straight, 6-0, at Mount Aloysius

CRESSON, Pa. – Scoring three times in the final 15 minutes of the first half helped the Lycoming College women's soccer team pull away from Mount Aloysius College in a 6-0 non-conference win at Kelly Field on Saturday evening, Aug. 31.

Junior Aubrey Williamson (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) spurred the run on in the 32nd minute when she spun off a defender, dribbled into the box and found sophomore Mikayla Long (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg Area) for her first of two goals during the game. Ninety seconds later, Williamson struck when she intercepted a ball played back for the keeper for her first score of the year.

Sophomore Ella Magee (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove Area) capped off the run just before halftime, scoring off a deflection by the keeper, heading the ball into the net for her second goal of the game and third of the season.

In the second half, the Warriors (2-0 overall) scored two assisted goals, with sophomore Kaitlyn Born (Hamilton, N.J./South Brunswick) finding sophomore Regan Jury (Millersburg, Pa./Millersburg) for a score in the 67th minute and sophomore Anna Kauffman (Lancaster, Pa./Conestoga Valley) finding Long for a score in the 84th.

Long and Magee each had two scores and Williamson added a goal and an assist to pace the offense, as Lycoming took 22 shots while Mount Aloysius (0-1 overall) was held to just four.

Sophomore Mia Pollack (Mountain Top, Pa./Crestwood) stopped one shot in the shutout. The Mounties' keeper, Brooke Mitchell, finished with six stops.

The Warriors are back in action on Thursday, Sept. 5, at 4 p.m., when they host Penn State-Abington in non-conference action at UPMC Field.
