Warriors start, finish strong in rout of Juniata, 17-5

HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Nine members of the Lycoming College men's lacrosse team found the back of the net as the team posted six goal first and fourth quarters en route to a 17-5 Landmark Conference win over Juniata College on Wednesday night, April 17, at Gibbel Stadium.
 
Junior Sean Farrell (Allentown, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) posted three goals and three assists to lead the Warriors (4-7 overall, 2-5 Landmark). Senior Patrick Dwyer (Somerville, N.J./Immaculata) and junior Joey Hoover (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove Area) each added hat tricks with three goals, senior Rory Hines (Cortland, N.Y./Cortland) added two goals and two assists and senior Andrew Ednie (Farmingville, N.Y./Sachem East) added a goal and three assists. Junior Shayne Wilson (Smyrna, Del./Smyrna) had two goals and junior Brian Hulsey (Annapolis, Md./Annapolis Area Christian) added two assists.
 
Junior Ryan Farrell (Swedesboro, N.J./Archmere Academy) posted nine groundballs and caused four turnovers, junior Elijah Roselle (North Plainfield, N.J./North Plainfield) added eight groundballs and junior Colin Manankil (White Hall, Md./Hereford) added six groundballs and scored a goal.
 
Ednie got the Warriors started with a pair of assists on two goals in the first 2:30, helping the Warriors out to a 6-1 lead in the first quarter. Juniata closed within three before the Warriors scored seven of the next eight goals, with first-year Brogan Wooley (Hampton, N.J./Morris Catholic) giving the Warriors a 13-4 lead with 11:30 left. Even a quick Juniata goal couldn't stop the momentum, as the Warriors scored the last four goals of the contest.
 
Reuben Stoll scored two goals and Casey Cappasola added a goal and an assist. Ryan Madison posted seven groundballs.
 
Junior Ben Franco (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus) stopped 12 shots in the win. Madison stopped 15 shots in net for the Eagles.
 
The Warriors host Moravian University in Landmark Conference play on Saturday, April 20, at 1 p.m. at UPMC Field.
