SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Junior Sarah Lanphear (Chittenango, N.Y./ Chittenango) and junior Rei Saar (Montoursville, Pa./ Montoursville Area) partnered to win their doubles match and won both of their singles matches for the Lycoming College women's tennis team, as it beat Susquehanna University, 5-4, in Landmark Conference play on Saturday, April 13 at the Garrett Complex Tennis Courts.
Saar and Lanphear won their No. 2 doubles match, 8-6, over Alexa Wanamaker and Katelyn Richter. Saar went on to win her No.3 singles match, 6-2, 6-4, against Wanamaker and Lanphear won the No.4 singles match 6-3, 6-4 against Richter.
Sophomore Greta Kimble (South Williamsport, Pa./ South Williamsport) and first-year Abigail Ebel (Camp Hill, Pa./ Camp Hill) won the No.3 doubles match, 8-4, over Jane Weaver and Katherine Yoder and Ebel clinched the match with her win at No.6 singles over Daniella Walker, 6-7 (8-10), 6-1, 6-1.
The Warriors improve to 3-9 overall and 2-4 in the Landmark. Susquehanna is now 2-11 overall and 0-7 in the Landmark.
The Warriors will be back in action on Sunday, April 14 at 11 a.m. as they visit Elizabethtown in Landmark Conference play.
