WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Lycoming College baseball team held a fifth-inning lead, but Wilkes University scored the last six runs in a 7-2 Landmark Conference win at Bruggeworth Field on Wednesday afternoon, April 10.

The Warriors (5-20 overall, 2-12 Landmark) tied the game at one in the fourth inning when sophomore
Nick Reeder (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville Area) doubled down the right-field line before a fly out and a sac bunt by sophomore
Zachary Pleska (Salem, Ohio/Columbiana) helped him score.

In the fifth, first-year
Ryan Tan (Colts Neck, N.J./Colts Neck) was hit by a pitch to lead off before junior
Jake Schilling (Levittown, Pa./Pennsbury) singled to right. A sac bunt was followed by a sac fly from sophomore
Kai Foster (West Milford, N.J./West Milford) to give Lycoming a 2-1 lead.

Wilkes (18-5 overall, 9-3 Landmark) scored two in the fifth, though, one in the sixth and three in the eighth.

Luke Spencer and Mike Show both went 2-for-4 with a run and two RBI and Matthew Show was 2-for-3 with a run for Wilkes.

Sophomore
Rick Trapanese (New Egypt, N.J./New Egypt) (1-1) pitched 2 1/3 innings, allowing four hits and two runs. He struck out two. Colby Butczynski (1-2) pitched 7 1/3 innings, allowing two hits and two runs. He struck out three in the win for Wilkes.

The Warriors are back in action on Saturday, April 13, when they head to Drew University for a 1 p.m. Landmark Conference doubleheader.
