IMMACULATA, Pa. – Sophomore Riley Block (Hopatcong, N.J./ Morris Catholic) posted six goals and added three assists and junior Alexa Baldwin (Bel Air, Md./ Harford Tech) had three goals and six assists to lead the Lycoming College women's lacrosse team, which fell to Immaculata University, 24-16, in non-conference action at Draper Walsh Stadium on Wednesday, March 27.
Block put up two goals in the first, third and fourth periods of the game for the Warriors (4-4 overall), while dishing out three assists for the season high in points. Baldwin's six assists marked the fifth time this season that she had at least five in a game. Her 34 assists are already third in school history, just six shy of the school record of 40 set by Heather Suit in 2007.
The Warriors (4-4 overall) led by two goals four times through the first half of the second quarter, but Immaculata (6-4 overall) used a six-goal run to help it take a 13-8 lead into halftime. That lead expanded to 11 goals at the start of the fourth before the Warriors went on a four-goal run, but they couldn't get closer than seven the rest of the way.
The Mighty Macs had four players with hat tricks. Liza Laxton had four goals and seven assists, Tessa Liberatoscioli had six goals and four assists, Jacki Murray notched seven goals and two assists and Kaitlyn Klitchko added five goals. Abigail Guarneri faced 23 shots and made four saves.
Junior Katie Maguire (Garnerville, N.Y./ Albertus Magnus) and junior Kailey Stocker (Ringwood, N.J./ Lakeland Regional) each had three goals as well. Stocker also had an assist and grabbed two groundballs. Senior Zoe Stauffer (Lititz, Pa./ Warwick) made 20 saves and faced 52 shots.
The Warriors will be back in action Friday, March 29, as they visit Elizabethtown College in Landmark Conference play at 4 p.m.
