WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Junior
Avery Eiswerth (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport Area) went 2-for-4 with two runs, a homer and two RBI and posted a three-inning save to lead the Lycoming College softball team, which posted an 8-6 win over Alfred University in the nightcap of a doubleheader on Tuesday, March 26, at the Shangraw Athletic Complex. In the first game, Alfred broke a seventh-inning tie with two runs in a 4-2 win.

Claire Alexander (South Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport Area) went 3-for-4 with a double and a RBI, senior
Kylie Segraves (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport Area) went 2-for-4 with a run and double, sophomore
Mallory Rodarmel (Montoursville, Pa./Loyalsock Township) went 2-for-4 with a double, a run and RBI, senior
Rachel DeWolfe (New Cumberland, Pa./Cedar Cliff) scored two runs and senior
Kylie Russell (Cogan Station, Pa./Jersey Shore) scored a run, hit a double and drove two in in the second game, as Lycoming (7-4 overall) pounded out 12 hits in the win.

After Alfred (6-6 overall) scored the game's first two runs, the Warriors got started in the second when Rodarmel hit a one-out double. Sophomore
Hailee Sobieski (Wharton, N.J./Morris Catholic) was hit by a pitch. After a groundout, Russell drilled a double to deep left and Alexander brought Russell in with a single up the middle.

In the third inning, Eiswerth singled with one out, stole second and scored on an error, that allowed DeWolfe to reach second. Rodarmel scored Eiswerth with a single. The Saxons scored twice in the fourth, but DeWolfe scored in the fifth when she reached second on an error and scored on a line single down that ricocheted off a diving third baseman's glove from sophomore
Alex Eckerson (Hopatcong, N.J./Morris Catholic) to make it 6-4.

Eiswerth capped the Warriors scoring in the sixth after Segraves singled to reach in front of her.

The Saxons did cut the gap to two runs in the seventh, but Eiswerth finished a three-inning stint with five strikeouts, three hits and two runs to earn the save. Russell (4-1) earned the win, allowing five hits and three earned runs in four innings. She walked two and struck out four.

Kendall Steward (0-3) pitched 2 1/3 innings, allowing six hits and four earned runs. Mya Wells went 2-for-4 with a run, a double, a homer and three RBI to lead the team offensively.

In the first game, the Warriors scored two runs in the first, but only had three base runners in the last six innings, as Alfred notched a 4-2 comeback win.

Alfred scored a run in the first before the Warriors rallied with two runs in the bottom of the inning. Segraves was hit by a pitch and with two outs, Eiswerth singled. DeWolfe followed with a line single that got past the left fielder to bring in both runs.

Alfred tied the game in the fourth before a solo homer from Jessica Remm helped it take the lead in the seventh.
Remm went 2-for-4 with a homer, Samantha Vidal went 2-for-4 with a run and Wells went 3-for-4 with a run and two doubles.

Megan Bennett (5-2) pitched a complete-game five-hitter, allowing an earned run and striking out six. Russell took the loss, allowing four hits and two runs in three innings.

The Warriors get back on the field on Friday, March 29, when they host 20
th-ranked Moravian University to open Landmark Conference play with a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
