NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Junior
Rachel Daub (Honesdale, Pa./Honesdale Area) went 4-for-5 with three runs and a RBI to pace the Lycoming College softball team, which swept a pair of games at the Fast Pitch Dreams Spring Classic on Tuesday, March 12 at the North Myrtle Beach Park and Sports Complex, beating Maine-Presque Isle (0-5 overall), 12-1 in five innings, and Oswego, 7-2.

Mallory Rodarmel (Montoursville, Pa./Loyalsock Township) led the Warriors (4-1 overall) against Presque Isle, going 3-for-3 with three runs, a double, a triple and two RBI in the 12-1 win. Daub went 2-for-2 with three runs, and sophomore
Claire Alexander (South Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport Area) scored two runs.

Alexander led off the first inning with a single, reached third on an error that allowed senior
Kylie Segraves (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport Area) to reach. An error allowed Alexander to score before Daub singled into left. Another error allowed senior
Rachel DeWolfe (New Cumberland, Pa./Cedar Cliff) to reach and scored a pair of runs. After a groundout, Rodarmel singled before sophomore
Alex Eckerson (Hopatcong, N.J./Morris Catholic) hit an RBI singled. A wild pitch allowed Rodarmel to score the fifth run of the inning.

Lycoming got back to work in the second inning, as Daub walked before Rodarmel hit a two-out triple down the line and scored on a double from sophomore
Kristen George (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville Area). In the third, Alexander and Segraves walked to lead off, with Alexander scoring on a double steal. Daub singled in before junior
Avery Eiswerth (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport Area) reached on an error to score Segraves. Rodarmel followed with an RBI double and Eiswerth scored on a throwing error before Rodarmel scored on a wild pitch.

Eiswerth (2-1) earned the win, tossing three innings, allowing two hits and striking out two. Senior
Cathryn Brought (Wellsboro, Pa./Wellsboro Area) pitched the last two innings, allowing four hits and one run.

Megan Bucholz (0-1) took the loss for the Owls, allowing eight hits and three earned runs in 2 1/3 innings.

Senior
Kylie Russell (Cogan Station, Pa./Jersey Shore) threw a complete game four-hitter to lead the Warriors to a 7-2 win over Oswego. She allowed just one walk and two runs in her second win of the year, striking out four.

Segraves went 2-for-4 with a RBI – reaching 90 hits in her career, Daub went 2-for-3 with a RBI, DeWolfe went 2-for-4 with a run and Eiswerth went 2-for-3 with a double and a run.

The Warriors got on the board in the second when Rodarmel reached on a walk. After a sac bunt, Eiswerth reached on an infield single. A double steal allowed Rodarmel to score. After a strikeout, Russell walked to put runners on first and second before an error allowed both Eiswerth and Russell to score.

Lycoming added two more runs in the fourth, as Eckerson reached on an error and George walked with one out, setting up a sac fly that scored Eckerson. Alexander followed with a single, setting up an RBI single from Segraves.

After the Lakers (0-5 overall) scored two runs in the fifth to make it 5-2, the Warriors got a run back in the fifth, as DeWolfe singled, took second on error, third on a wild pitch and scored on an Eckerson sac fly. Lycoming added one more in the sixth, as Russell singled to lead off, took second on a sac bunt, third on a single by Segraves and scored on a Daub sac fly.

Fiona Higgins (0-3) tossed 3 1/3 innings, allowing three hits and an earned run. She walked three and struck out three.

After a day off, the Warriors get back in action at the Fast Pitch Dreams Spring Classic, facing Mansfield at 9 a.m. and Thiel at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 14, at the North Myrtle Beach Park and Sports Complex.
