Avery Eiswerth (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport Area) and senior
Cathryn Brought (Wellsboro, Pa./Wellsboro Area) combined on a two-hit shutout as the Lycoming College softball team downed Thiel College, 11-0 in five innings, to cap the team's Thursday, March 14. Lycoming fell to Division II Mansfield, 5-2, in the first game of the day.

The Warriors (5-2 overall) pounded out 12 hits against the Tomcats (2-6 overall), led by three hits, three runs and two doubles from Eiswerth.

Sophomore
Hailee Sobieski (Wharton, N.J./Morris Catholic) went 2-for-3, with a triple, two runs and three RBI and senior
Rachel DeWolfe (New Cumberland, Pa./Cedar Cliff) also added two doubles, a run and two RBI to pace the team's attack.

The Warriors got on the board in the second inning, as Eiswerth singled to lead off and scored on a throwing error that allowed DeWolfe to reach. Sophomore
Alex Eckerson (Hopatcong, N.J./Morris Catholic) walked, setting up a two-RBI triple to right center from senior
Kylie Russell (Cogan Station, Pa./Jersey Shore Area). She came in to score on a grounder.

In the third, junior
Rachel Daub (Honesdale, Pa./Honesdale Area) led off with a single. After a fielder's choice, Eiswerth drove her in with a double before Sobieski tripled into center field. DeWolfe followed with a double to make it 7-0.

Daub singled with one out in the fourth to get another rally started. After an error allowed sophomore
Mallory Rodarmel (Montoursville, Pa./Loyalsock Township) to reach, Eiswerth singled to load the bases. Sobieski drove in two runs with a single before DeWolfe doubled in a run. A wild pitch allowed Sobieski to score the final run.

Eiswerth (3-2) tossed four innings, allowing one hit and one walk in the win, striking out five. Brought threw the fifth inning, allowing a hit. Kayla Roddy (1-1) took the loss for the Tomcats, allowing 11 hits and nine earned runs in 3 1/3 innings.

In the opener, Mansfield used a three-run third inning to take control in a 5-2 win.

Rodarmel led the Warriors, going 2-for-3 with a run and RBI. Eiswerth added a triple and a RBI.

The Warriors took the lead in the bottom of the second, as Rodarmel had a two-out single before Eiswerth tripled. After Mansfield took the lead, the Warriors closed within a run in the third, as sophomore
Claire Alexander (South Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport Area) walked, took second on a grounder and scored on a single to center field from Daub.

Melissa Demo led the Mounties (4-1 overall), going 4-for-4 with two runs and Fallon Kelley went 2-for-3 with three RBI.

Danielle Goff (3-0) tossed a complete game four-hitter, allowing four walks and striking out six. Eiswerth pitched four innings for the Warriors, allowing eight hits, two walks and three earned runs. She struck out three. Russell pitched three innings, allowed three hits and a run, striking out three.

The Warriors wrap up their spring trip on Friday, March 15, facing SUNY Delhi at 9 a.m. and UMass-Boston at 1 p.m. at the North Myrtle Beach Park and Sports Complex.
