Connor Shanahan (Chester Springs, Pa./Downingtown East) led the Lycoming College men's basketball team with 16 points and junior
Isaiah Valentine (Mifflinburg, Pa./Mifflinburg Area) added 14, but Wilkes University notched a 87-64 Landmark Conference victory on Wednesday night, Dec. 4, at the Marts Center.

The Warriors (1-7 overall, 1-2 Landmark) shot a hefty 59 percent (13-of-22) in the first half and 46 percent in the game (24-of-52), but Wilkes (7-1 overall, 2-0 Landmark) scored 25 second-chance points and 22 off turnovers.

Valentine also added five rebounds and two assists and sophomore
Hayden Pardoe (Mill Hall, Pa./Central Mountain) notched six points, a team-high six rebounds, four steals and three assists. Senior
Ivan Komitski (Sofia, Bulgaria/Lee Academy) posted nine points.

The teams rolled through four lead changes and five ties in the game's first eight minutes, with a 3-pointer from Shanahan giving Lycoming a 17-15 lead with 12:45 left before Valentine added a pair of free throws to make it 19-17 with 11:59 left. Daniel Santaniello scored the next 11 points in a row during a run of 13 points in a row by the Colonels, who led 30-19 with 5:55 left in the first half. Princeton Layton (Katy, Texas/Katy Paetow) with 32 seconds left.

Lycoming closed within four points after a 3-pointer from Komitski with 18:47 left in the second half, but Wilkes responded with three straight 3-pointers to lead 51-38 with 16:21 left and kept the lead in double figures the rest of the game.

Lucas Lesko notched 20 points, nine rebounds and two blocks for the Colonels. Jack Argento notched 15 points and eight rebounds, Joey Zvorsky had 11 points and three steals and Santaniello also added 11 points. Cayden Merrifield added eight points and five assists.

The Warriors get back on the court on Saturday, Dec. 7, when they host Drew University in Landmark Conference action at 4 p.m., in Lamade Gym.
