Women's Soccer Team
Six women's soccer players — Madison Maihle, Haley Schafer, Abigail Umhoefer, Hannah Wood, Aubrey Williamson, and Ella Magee — received the 2024 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Women's Soccer Team honors. The Academic All-District Women's Soccer Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their performance on the field and in the classroom.

Six Warriors named to the CSC Academic All-District Team

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - Six Lycoming College women's soccer players received 2024 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Women's Soccer Team honors — two seniors Madison Maihle (Jersey Shore, Pa. / Jersey Shore Area) and Haley Schafer (Camden, Del. / Caesar Rodney); three juniors Abigail Umhoefer (Poughkeepsie, N.Y. / Our Lady of Lourdes), Hannah Wood (Nottingham, Pa. / Solanco) and Aubrey Williamson (Lititz, Pa. / Warwick); and sophomore Ella Magee (Selinsgrove, Pa. / Selinsgrove Area) — the organization announced.

Eligible student-athletes must classify as at least a sophomore academically and carry a 3.50 minimum cumulative grade-point average. Additionally, the student-athletes must have competed in 90 percent of the institution's games/contests/sets played or have started in at least 66 percent of the games/contests/sets throughout the season. A maximum of six student-athletes can be honored from a team in soccer.

The 2024 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Soccer Teams, which are selected by the College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.

Maihle, a senior defender who scored the Warriors' game-winning goal in the Landmark Conference Championship semifinals against Moravian and set the program record for most games played (78) in a career, also earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team selection in 2022 and 2023.

Schafer, a senior defender who started 19 of the 20 games she played in the 2024 season, posted 13 shot attempts. She also ranked sixth in the league with five assists at key games against Delaware Valley, Penn St.-Harrisburg, Scranton, Catholic, and Drew. Schafer made the MAC Academic Honor Roll in 2022, and she was recognized as an Honorable Mention All-Landmark Conference defender in 2023 and a First Team All-Landmark Conference pick in 2024.

Umhoefer, a junior forward who competed in 20 games during the 2024 season, notched an assist against Penn St.-Abington and four goals, scoring against Wilkes, Susquehanna, King's (Pa.) and Alvernia. She also earned the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team selection in 2023.

As a defender who competed in 21 games this season, Wood helped the Warriors post a school-record 11 shutouts in 2024 while serving as one of the team's center backs.

Williamson, who posted 21 points this season to earn Second Team All-Landmark Conference honors, led the Landmark Conference with nine assists and broke the program record for career assists with 20 in the Landmark Conference Championship semifinal against Moravian. The junior midfielder received the 2023 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team selection as well, making this her second straight year with the honor.

As a sophomore midfielder, Magee notched 21 points in her first season on the team to earn Second Team All-Landmark Conference honors. Magee accumulated nine goals and three assists, earning Landmark Conference Offensive Athlete of the Week honors once during the season.

The Warriors ended the season 15-3-3 overall and 6-1-2 in the Landmark Conference under eighth-year head coach Kenny Fern. The team competed in the Landmark Conference Championship final against the University of Scranton for the first time in the program's 31-year history.
