HOUGHTON, N.Y. – After falling in the first two sets, the Lycoming College volleyball team rallied by holding Houghton University to a .054 hitting percentage in the last three sets to post a 3-2 (18-25, 19-25, 25-16, 25-21, 15-13) non-conference win on Tuesday night, Oct. 22, at the Nielsen Center.

Cameron Upcraft (Spring Mills, Pa./Penns Valley) led the Warriors (9-13 overall) with 10 kills and nine blocks, as she moved within six kills of 500 in her career, and senior
Brynne Bisel (Julian, Pa./Bald Eagle Area) added 13 kills and 19 digs. Senior
Ava Coombs (Suffern, N.Y./Suffern) added eight kills. Sophomore
Haley Balgavy (Warrenton, Va./Kettle Run) posted 25 assists and three aces and sophomore
Ima Mercado (Mifflintown, Pa./Juniata) added 13 assists and eight digs.

Ali Koval (Mansfield, Pa./North Penn-Mansfield) posted 27 digs, just 23 away from becoming the fifth player in program history to reach 1,500 digs in a career, and senior
Kendall Myers (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Trinity) added 15 digs. Senior
Arianna Santos (Oxford, Pa./Oxford Area) had four blocks and first-year
Angela Farnham (LaPlata, Md./McDonough) had three.

Lycoming led 6-0 in the fifth set before Houghton came back to come within a point at 9-8 and again twice more, but each time, the Warriors had an answer, getting the next point, with a huge block from Upcraft and Farnham making it 14-12 before sophomore
Alli Macensky (Galeton, Pa./Galeton Area) tooled a block for a kill to clinch the match.

The Warriors started their comeback by finishing the third set with a 16-7 run before breaking a tie at 21 in the fourth set with a Mercado ace that led the team on a four-point run and a 25-21 win.

Emma Cole led the Highlanders (9-11 overall) with 17 kills and three blocks, Ainslee Reimer had 12 kills and 21 digs and Lilly Bentley added 11 kills. Logan Baer had 33 assists and 11 digs and Ella Smith had 19 digs and three aces.

The Warriors get back on the court with a pair of matches at the San Jose Recreation Center in Puerto Rico on Friday, Oct. 25, when they face Puerto Rico-Bayamon at 2 p.m. Atlantic time and Puerto Rico-Rio Piedras at 4 p.m.
