Warriors reach 10 wins with 1-0 shutout of Juniata

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Sophomore Ella Magee (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove) got a quick one-touch chance and buried a shot in the left corner early in the second half to help the Lycoming College women's soccer team to a 1-0 Landmark Conference win over Juniata College on Wednesday night, Oct. 16, at UPMC Field, helping Lycoming reach 10 wins for the fourth time in the last five seasons.

Lycoming (10-3-2 overall, 2-1-2 Landmark) reach the 10-win mark for the sixth time in program history and the fourth time since 2019, a span in which the Warriors have posted a 49-28-13 (.628) record under eighth-year head coach Kenny Fern.

The Warriors scored off a free kick in the 49th minute, with senior Haley Schafer (Camden, Del./Caesar Rodney) sending the ball into the box, where it was headed around until junior Aubrey Williamson (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) flicked it over to Magee, who finished off the goal, as both extended their lead in the conference in the respective offensive categories with Magee's ninth goal and Williamson's seventh assist.

Junior Riley Block (Hopatcong, N.J./Morris Catholic) stopped four shots in the shutout, including breaking up a 1-v-1 in the first half, as Juniata (8-4-1 overall, 2-3 Landmark) fired 10 shots in the game.

Sarah Betts stopped two shots for the Eagles, as Lycoming finished with seven shots and four corners to Juniata's one.

The Warriors are back in action on Saturday, Oct. 19, when they host the Catholic University of America in a Landmark Conference game at 1 p.m., at UPMC Field.
