Umhoefer, Magee score to secure 2-0 win at King’s

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - Junior Abigail Umhoefer (Poughkeepsie, N.Y. / Our Lady of Lourdes) and sophomore Ella Magee (Selinsgrove, Pa. / Selinsgrove Area) scored goals for the Lycoming College women's soccer, as it beat King's (Pa.), 2-0, in non-conference action on Tuesday, Oct. 1, at McCarthy Stadium.

In the fifth minute, junior Aubrey Williamson (Lititz, Pa. / Warwick) crossed a pass near the end line to Umhoefer, who headed it into the right corner to give the Warriors (8-1-2 overall) an early lead.

Twenty minutes into the second half, Magee took a penalty kick for the Warriors, getting it past the King's keeper.

In net for the Warriors, junior Riley Block (Hopatcong, N.J. / Morris Catholic) notched eight saves to earn the shutout. King's Ashley Crawford saved six shots.

The Warriors took 18 shots against the Lions (1-5-4 overall) with four fired by sophomore Julia Bidelspach (Myerstown, Pa. / ELCO), who led the Warriors in attempts. The Lions had 16 shots.


The Warriors play again on Saturday, Oct. 5, at UPMC Field, where they will face Susquehanna University in Landmark Conference play at 1 p.m.
