Warriors comeback to draw Goucher

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Down a pair of goals at halftime, the Lycoming College women's soccer team stormed back to tie the game in the second half to earn a 2-2 draw with Goucher College in their first Landmark Conference contest on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 23.

The Warriors (3-1-3 overall, 0-0-1 Landmark) got on the board in the 49th minute, as senior Taylor Snyder (Milton, Pa./Milton Area) got the ball near the goalline off a corner kick from sophomore Kylie Brodkorb (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) and looked to lift a cross into the box and the goalkeeper deflected it into the net.

In the 65th minute, sophomore Aubrey Williamson (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) drew a foul when she was pulled down in the box and first-year Mikayla Long (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg Area) drilled the resulting penalty kick to tie the score.

Both teams had a pair of shots in the final 25 minutes, but neither could find the back of the net.

Goucher (2-1-4 overall, 0-0-1 Landmark) scored twice in the first 25 minutes, but the Warriors held an 11-4 advantage in shots in the game and both teams took three corners in the game.

Sophomore Riley Block (Hopatcong, N.J./Morris Catholic) played the first half for the Warriors before yielding to junior Abbey Gerasimoff (Bloomsburg, Pa./Bloomsburg Area), who stopped two shots in the second half. Madison Gutierrez stopped five shots in net for the Gophers.

The Warriors are back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 27, when they host King's College at 4 p.m. in non-conference action.
