Warriors come alive in second against Marymount, 3-0

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Three different Lycoming College women's soccer players scored in the second half to lift it to a 3-0 win over Marymount University in non-conference action at UPMC Field on Saturday, Sept. 16.
 
After not getting a shot off and drawing five offside calls in the first half, the Warriors (3-1-2 overall) settled into the game in the second half, firing eight shots and connecting three times, the first in the first minute of the half, as sophomore Natalie Bates (Newark, N.Y./Newark) delivered off a give from junior Haley Schafer (Camden, Del./Caesar Rodney). Sophomore Abigail Umhoefer (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Our Lady of Lourdes) delivered off a dish from sophomore Aubrey Williamson (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) in the 64th minute, and sophomore Lily Finkbeiner (Warrenton, Va./Fauquier) scored her first career goal off a give from first-year Maddy John (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) in the 89th minute.
 
Sophomore Riley Block (Hopatcong, N.J./Morris Catholic) made five saves in the game's first 63 minutes before yielding to sophomore Abbey Gerasimoff (Bloomsburg, Pa./Bloomsburg Area), who finished the shutout. Layne Kaufman stopped two shots for the Saints (1-5-1 overall).
 
The Warriors get back on the field on Saturday, Sept. 23, when they host Goucher College in Landmark Conference action at UPMC Field at 3:30 p.m.
