WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Junior 
Owen Magee (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove Area) smashed in the game-winning goal with a brilliant one-timer in 77
th minute to lead the Lycoming College men's soccer team to a 2-1 non-conference win over Rutgers-Newark on Wednesday evening, Sept. 13, at UPMC Field.
 
Sophomore 
Thomas Geyer (Havre de Grace, Md./Harford Tech) won a challenge down the right sideline and crossed a ball into the box to set up the game-winner, as senior 
Kenny Clapp (Baltimore, Md./Archbishop Curley) caught it and lifted it across the box for a waiting Magee, who smashed a low liner into the right corner of the net.
 
The Warriors (2-2-2 overall) got on the board in the third minute, when senior 
Joe Bamfo (Lake Grove, N.Y./Connetquot) got behind a defender and was able to send a cross to a waiting senior 
Jaeden Asare (Letterkenny, Ireland/Perry Hall (Md.)) in the box and Asare closed out the goal with quick shot to the left side.
  
The Scarlet Raiders (1-3-2 overall) tied the game in the 14
th minute, with Marlon Rodriguez getting a chance for a 20-yarder into the left corner of the net off a turnover.
 
Senior goalkeeper 
Nick Wilke (Mercerville, N.J./Notre Dame) earned the win for the Warriors, making three saves off 10 Scarlet Raider shots. Pedro Flores also made three stops, as Lycoming took 11 shots in the game.
 
The Scarlet Raiders, who won the ECAC Championship in 2022, notched four corners while the Warriors took five.
 
The Warriors get back on the field on Saturday, Sept. 16, when they host Keystone at 4 p.m. at UPMC Field.
