WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Juniors
Ali Koval (Mansfield, Pa./North Penn-Mansfield) and
Kendall Myers (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Trinity) paced the Lycoming College volleyball team with 32 digs and 31 digs on the night, respectively, as Lycoming swept Clarks Summit University, 3-0 (25-5, 25-14, 25-23), before grinding out a 3-1 win over La Roche University, (25-27, 25-13, 25-22, 25-21) in the nightcap of the opening day of the Tip-Off Tournament at Lamade Gym.

Koval finished with 32 digs against La Roche (0-2 overall), as she reached 600 career digs in the match, while Myers added 20 in the match, as Lycoming (2-0 overall) held the Redhawks to a .013 hitting percentage in the match. Myers also added 11 digs in the opener against the Defenders (0-1 overall), who were held to a .014 hitting percentage.

Ava Coombs (Suffern, N.Y./Suffern) led the offense against the Defenders, posting eight kills, an ace and four digs. First-year
Haley Balgavy (Warrenton, Va./Kettle Run) led the team with seven assists and three aces and first-year
Alli Macensky (Galeton, Pa./Galeton Area) posted three blocks. Junior
Brynee Bisel (Julian, Pa./Bald Eagle Area) also added five kills, three aces and six digs.

The Warriors gritted out the second match, working through 27 ties and 16 lead changes to post the four-set win.

Jessica Ahart (Boyertown, Pa./Boyertown Area) led the team with 11 kills, Bisel finished with nine kills and 14 digs and sophomore
Cameron Upcraft (Spring Mills, Pa./Penns Valley) added eight kills and two digs. Junior
Arianna Santos (Oxford, Pa./Oxford Area) added seven kills and four blocks and Macensky added four kills and seven blocks. First-year
Lindsay Heimlich (Bergen, N.Y./Mercy) led the Warriors with 21 assists and Balgavy added 16.

Lauren Tomasko led the Redhawks with six kills and 10 digs and Kenzie Kerkan notched 26 digs and Quinn Hughes posted nine blocks.

The Warriors will wrap up the Tip-Off Tournament by facing Chatham University at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 2, in Lamade Gym.
