MADISON, N.J. – Sophomore
Joey Hoover (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove Area) led the Lycoming College men's lacrosse team with a career-high five goals, but Lycoming succumbed to a late rally by FDU-Florham, which posted an 18-12 win to clinch the fifth and final MAC Freedom Championship slot, on Saturday, April 29, at Robert T. Shields Stadium.

Hoover added a ground ball to his five goals, finishing second on the team in scoring this season with 22 goals, four assists, 23 ground balls, and five caused turnovers. Senior
Owen Zimmerman (Stevens, Pa./Cocalico) posted two goals, one assist, and three ground balls. Zimmerman finished the season with a 55 goals, the second-most in program history, nine assists, 32 ground balls and seven caused turnovers. He ranked second in the MAC Freedom, averaging 3.24 goals per game. He finishes his career second in program history with 151 career goals and sixth all-time with 194 points.

Tying the game early at one, Zimmerman scored the first goal of the afternoon at 13:11 for the Warriors unassisted on a shot as he was coming around the corner of the left goal post. The Warriors took the lead as Ednie took a high shot from deep with 12:31 left in the first. Hoover's first of the game was a minute later on an underhanded shot, set up by Switzer at the restraining line. On a man-up opportunity at 5:48, Wilson struck as he picked off a pass from the FDU keeper and scored on an open net. Hoover gained possession just inside the Devils defensive zone and was able to run it in for another underhanded shot for his second of the game at 2:33.

At 11:59 in the second, Zimmerman scored his second of the game as he snagged the ground ball off a shot by Hoover and shot at the post for a wraparound goal. At the 9:03 mark Hoover completed his hat trick, as Zimmerman brought the ball in from midfield and found Hoover. The Devils tied the game at seven but
Ryan Farrell took the faceoff with Switzer gaining the ground ball at the Warriors' restraining line and cleared it back to Farrell for a quick shot from out right.

Giving the Warriors the lead to start off the third quarter, Hoover notched a goal inside in between two Devils defenders and got a shot off. Goal number five for Hoover came after FDU tied the game on an open shot from outside the crease after clearing the field for the Warriors.

The Devils scored the next seven goals before Anderson broke up their rally with 8:33 left on another man-up chance. Ednie's second goal at 6:49 finished the scoring for the Warriors from the top of the crease.

The Devils were led by Brendan Fabin with six goals and five ground balls. Brian Stewart finished with four goals, two assists and four ground balls.

Sophomore goalkeeper
Ben Franco (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus) made 18 saves before he was relieved by senior
Sean Sonnie (Cinnaminson, N.J./Cinnaminson), who stopped one. Dalton Povilaitis and Matt Reifer combined for 14 saves for the Devils.

The Warriors finish the regular season 6-11 overall and 3-5 in the MAC Freedom under third-year head coach
