WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – First-year
Gehrig Blanchard (Upper Saddle River, N.J./Northern Highlands Regional) laid down a perfect bunt single to load the bases in the bottom of the ninth for the Lycoming College baseball team, but Lukas Khandangle got a groundball double play end the game for Albright College, as it posted a 7-5 non-conference win on Thursday night, April 27, at Muncy Bank Ballpark at Historic Bowman Field.

Josh Bottger (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Wilkes-Barre Area) walked to start the ninth before first-year
Nick Reeder (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville Area) was hit by a pitch to set up Blanchard, who bunted down the first base line, loading the bases and putting the tying run at second base, but a strikeout and double play ended the game.

Down 7-2 heading into the eighth, the Warriors (12-23 overall) rallied as Reeder became the first Warrior in school history to record 40 hits in a season, reaching on an infield single before Blanchard was hit by a pitch and sophomore
Jake Schilling (Levittown, Pa./Pennsbury) singled into left field. Junior
Joey Trout (North East, Md./St. Elizabeth) singled into center field to score one run, a sac fly scored Blanchard and a single by first-year
Ben Glad (Burnsville, Minn./Apple Valley) into center scored Schilling to make it 7-5.

Down 5-0, the Warriors worked back into the game with single runs in the third and fourth innings. A pair of walks, a single by Reeder and a bases loaded walk by Blanchard got the first run of the game across in the third. In the fourth, first-year
Zachary Pleska (Salem, Ohio/Columbiana) tripled to left center to lead off and scored on a sac fly from Glad.

Reeder finished 3-for-4 with a run, Pleska was 2-for-4 with a run and a triple and Glad was 1-for-2 with a run and two RBI for the Warriors.

Zander Tesoriere went 3-for-5 with a run, two doubles and a RBI and Tommy Lewman was 3-for-4 with a run, a double and two RBI to lead the Lions (8-29 overall).

Josh Tudor (1-3) earned the win for the Lions, going six innings and allowing four hits, three walks and two runs. He struck out seven. Khandangle earned the save, allowing a hit and striking out one in the ninth.

Sam Marcus (Amissville, Va./Highland School) allowed two hits and two runs in the first two innings. He struck out one and was the first of seven Warrior hurlers on the evening.

The Warriors get back on the field on Saturday, April 29, when they head to Albright for two seven-inning games, with the doubleheader slated to start at 2 p.m.
