WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – Notching his second three-goal game of the season, sophomore
Sean Farrell (Allentown, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) led the Lycoming College men's lacrosse team in a 9-7 MAC Freedom victory over King's College on Wednesday, April 19 at McCarthy Stadium.

Farrell added an assist and a ground ball to go with his three goals. Senior
Owen Zimmerman (Stevens, Pa./Cocalico) scored two and picked up a ground ball. Junior
Andrew Ednie (Farmingville, N.Y./Sachem East) also scored two, assisted twice, and picked up three ground balls. Sophomore
Shayne Wilson (Smyrna, Del./Smyrna) and sophomore
Joey Hoover (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove Area) scored a goal each, Wilson with two ground balls.

Ben Franco (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus) led the team with five ground ball pickups, as he made nine saves in the win.

Wilson had the first goal of the game, scoring off a turnover by the Monarchs, allowing the Warriors (6-8 overall, 3-2 MAC Freedom) to clear the ball to Wilson for the shot, Ednie assisting. Ednie followed three minutes later after first-year
Cole Slezak (Butler, Pa./Kiski Prep) won the ground ball possession for the Warriors, with junior
Max Anderson (Harrisburg, Pa./Homeschooled) with the assist. Ednie tallied again at 4:38 in the first on a play that started with Wilson winning the ground ball and sophomore
Jakob Switzer (West Pittston, Pa./Wyoming Area) and Hoover each taking a shot before Ednie got the rebound in the back of the cage. Hoover ended the quarter with a goal as the clock hit zero on a man-up opportunity.

Farrell's first goal opened the second quarter on another man-up chance for the Warriors, with Anderson with the assist again, as Farrell shot from out wide in the defensive zone. Zimmerman with a hard shot from inside the line scored to give the Warriors a 6-2 lead heading into the half.

The final three minutes of the third saw Farrell finish off his hat trick, with his second goal coming from a shot outside the close defense with Ednie on the assist. A minute later he got his shot passed the Monarchs' goalkeeper as he was tripped up at the goal crease.

Another man-up opportunity for the Warriors led to Zimmerman's second goal on a high shot as he was left unattended out in the Monarchs' defensive zone.

Jack Wall, Ben Spencer, and EJ Schreiner all scored twice for the Monarchs (0-12 overall, 0-5 MAC Freedom).

Franco and sophomore goalkeeper
Michael Lavinio (Upper Saddle River, N.J./Saint Joseph Regional) combined for 12 saves. Matt Wall made 16 saves for the Monarchs.

The Warriors return to the field on Saturday, April 22, to celebrate Senior Day as they host Stevens Institute of Technology in MAC Freedom action at 1 p.m. at UPMC Field.
