HUNTINGDON, Pa. – For the second game in a row, sophomore
Alexa Baldwin (Bel Air, Md./Harford Tech) netted a hat trick for the Lycoming College women's lacrosse team and was joined by sophomore
Katie Maguire (Garnerville, N.Y./Albertus Magnus) with three goals as Lycoming fell in non-conference action to Juniata College, 16-8, on Wednesday, March 1, at Gibbel Stadium.

Baldwin and Maguire each picked up two ground balls as first-years
Riley Block (Hopatcong, N.J./Morris Catholic), and
Riley Cranmer (Butler, Pa./Butler Area) each added a goal in the Warriors' final tally.

Block and senior
Madison Wineburg (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville Area) finished with a team leading four groundballs and Cranmer caused five turnovers. Senior
Tess Arnold (Corning, N.Y./Corning-Painted Post) posted four caused turnovers and picked up two ground balls.

The Warriors (0-2 overall) kept pace with the Eagles (3-0 overall) early on, with Maguire notching the first goal on a free position attempt. Baldwin's first goal at 7:37 in the first came after she caused a turnover to the left of the goal before her shot found the back of the next.

Goal number two for Baldwin came in the second quarter from inside the arch as Cranmer, on her way to the backside of the goal, found Baldwin for the scoring attempt. The Eagles took the lead back, though, and entered the half up, 4-3.

Maguire scored again on a free position awarded to the Warriors after winning the draw and cutting the difference to two goals in the third quarter and Cranmer's goal came on a free position attempt, but Juniata countered the two Lycoming goals with eight to take control.

Wineburg snatched a groundball on its way through the Eagles defensive zone and carried it back, finding Block outside the arc, and Block hit a jump shot from the left post after managing a run around the back of the goal. Baldwin finished off her three goals by picking up a ground ball after a turnover and shoot on an open goal. Maguire finished the day with the final goal for the Warriors with her third free position goal.

Payton Goodrich led the Eagles with five goals. Grace Gibbs and Kyndall Yeager each scored four.

Sophomore goalkeeper
Zoe Stauffer (Litiz, Pa./Warwick) made seven saves for the Lycoming, and Chloe Gerhard finished with 13 for the Eagles.

The Warriors return to the field on Wednesday, March 15, when they head to Randolph College for a 1 p.m. faceoff in Lynchburg, Va.
