WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – A trio of sophomores -
Mya Wetzel (Frackville, Pa./North Schuylkill)
Meghan Dufner (Washington, N.J./Warren Hills Regional) and
Alicia Goldenziel (Moscow, Pa./North Pocono) – scored in double-figures to lead the Lycoming College women's basketball team in a 97-38 MAC Freedom win over FDU-Florham for Senior Day on Saturday, Feb. 11, at Lamade Gym.
Wetzel finished with 15 points, a rebound, two assists and four steals. Dufner scored 14 points and added four rebounds, four assists and six steals. Goldenziel added 10 points, five rebounds and two steals. Sophomore
Sarah Lanphear (Chittenango, N.Y./Chittenango) landed a career-best nine points to go with three rebounds and two assists.
The Warriors (7-16 overall, 3-11 MAC Freedom) honored senior
Kenzie Reed (Lancaster, Pa./Conestoga Valley) before the game and she came through with a career-high seven assists, six rebounds and two points.
The Warriors capitalized on 30 points from the paint and 26 off turnovers, and 54 came from the bench as the team shot 41 percent (37-of-90) from the field.
Lanphear highlighted the final 10 minutes with nine points as the Warriors crossed the 90-point threshold for the first time since a 99-59 victory over Penn College on Nov. 26, 2019. Lanphear's 3-pointers came at the six-, four- and one-minute marks. First-year

The Devils (0-18 overall, 0-14 MAC Freedom) entered the scoring column first, but the Warriors quickly ran out for 10 straight points to start the game. Emily Lockard (Benton, Pa./Benton) connected on two free throws. With only a jumper from Abigail Rodriguez in between, the Warriors notched another eight points with Lockard, Goldenziel and Dufner all putting up two.
Wetzel led through the second quarter with her first 3-point shot coming two minutes in and the other on the other side of a jumper by sophomore
Mia Rudalavage (Eynon, Pa./Valley View). Reed opened the quarter on a layup as Goldenziel finished the quarter with four points, hitting a pair of jumpers as the Warriors ended the half up, 45-19.
The third quarter was a barrage of 3-point shots from the Warriors and eight players scored. Wetzel finished the quarter with nine points and sophomore
Jillian Pumputis (Westminster, Md./Westminster) notched another six points, as Lycoming scored 29 in the period.
Abigail Rodriguez led the Devils with 28 points, four rebounds, two assists and a steal.
The Warriors return to the court on Tuesday, Feb. 14, when they host Misericordia University in MAC Freedom action with an 8 p.m. tipoff at Lamade Gym.
