Meghan Dufner (Washington, N.J./Warren Hills Regional) led a group of five players with at least eight points, scoring 10, as the Lycoming College women's basketball team opened up the 14
th annual Hoops for Hounds tournament with a 53-42 win over Hiram College on Friday, Dec. 29 at Lamade Gym.

Emily Lockard (Benton, Pa./Benton Area), junior
Alicia Goldenziel (Moscow, Pa./North Pocono) and junior
Ashley Yoh (Myerstown, Pa./Eastern Lebanon County) all finished with nine points for the Warriors (7-3 overall), as Lockard added 11 rebounds and four steals, Goldenziel posted eight rebounds and four assists and Yoh added three steals. Sophomore
Kami Abdo (Pottsville, Pa./Nativity BVM) added eight points.
In the fourth quarter, the Warriors had their largest lead of the contest at 16 points at 47-31, as the team scored 18 points off of turnovers throughout the game. The team separated from the Terriers (4-6 overall) at the end of the second quarter, using an 11-0 run capped by a jumper from Goldenziel to give Lycoming a 34-22 lead with 9:42 left in the third quarter, as Hiram was able to close within 10 points just once in the final 20 minutes.
The Warriors held Hiram to 22 percent from the floor (14-of-63) and forced 22 turnovers in the contest. Hiram's Brooke Hickman led the team with 10 points and 15 rebounds. Ava Mory followed behind with 13 rebounds.
The Warriors wrap up the Hoops for Hounds Classic at Lamade Gymnasium against Hunter College on Saturday, Dec. 30 at 2 p.m. Hunter fell to Misericordia, 62-55, in the second game of the classic.
