WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Two Lycoming College men's soccer players were named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Region V team, the organization announced on Tuesday, Nov. 28, with senior defender Brayden Wise (Baltimore, Md./ Archbishop Curley) earning first team honors for a second time and senior defender Kenny Clapp (Baltimore, Md./ Archbishop Curley) repeating on the third-team.
Wise, who was also the 2023 Landmark Conference Defensive Player of the Year, again served as the team's beating heart as an outside back. He posted four goals during the season and played a major role in each of the team's 11 shutouts, as opponents averaged less than 10 shots per game against the Warrior backline. He is the first two-time player of the year in program history, earning MAC Freedom Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2022.
Wise is the third Lycoming men's soccer player to earn three all-region accolades in a career, joining Jordan Logan '19 and Abdullahi Abdi '18, as he was a first-team defender in 2021 and a second-team pick in 2022 in Region IV.
Clapp repeated as a third-team all-region defender in 2023 after earning the honors in Region IV in 2022. A two-time second-team all-conference honoree, he finished 2023 with a goal and eight assists, good for second in the conference and 33rd nationally in the category.
The Warriors finished 11-4-6 overall and 7-0-2 in the Landmark Conference under head coach Nate Gibboney, becoming the first program in school history to reach a Landmark Conference Championship game.
