WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – After helping the Lycoming College men's soccer team take control of the Landmark Conference with a pair of wins last week, senior Brayden Wise (Baltimore, Md./Archbishop Curley) was named the Landmark Conference Defensive Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday, Oct. 9.
 
Wise was a part of a Lycoming defense that allowed just six shots on goal during a 1-0 win over Scranton and 2-1 win over Moravian, which helped the team improve to 7-3-3 overall and 4-0 in the Landmark Conference, which is two points ahead of second-place Catholic (3-0-1 Landmark), as the teams are set to head into their regular-season clash at Catholic on Saturday at 1 p.m. in Washington D.C.
 
Wise, who is a two-time all-region and two-time First Team All-MAC Freedom selection and the 2022 MAC Freedom Defensive Player of the Year, earned his first career weekly honors. He is the first Warrior to earn a player of the week award since senior teammate Joey Francis (Camp Hill, Pa./Cedar Cliff) was named the MAC Freedom Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 10, 2022. He is the first defensive player of the week since senior Nick Wilke (Mercerville, N.J./Notre Dame) was the MAC Freedom honoree on Oct. 18, 2021.
 
The Warriors get back on the field on Tuesday, Oct. 10, at 7 p.m., against Juniata College in another Landmark Conference game at UPMC Field.
