Warriors draw with third-place Moravian

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Sophomore Riley Block (Hopatcong, N.J./Morris Catholic) made six saves for her second shutout of the year to help the Lycoming College women's soccer team set a program record with a fifth tie as it finished a 0-0 draw with third-place Moravian University in Landmark Conference action at UPMC Field on Saturday, Oct. 7.

The Greyhounds (5-2-4 overall, 2-0-2 Landmark) took 14 shots in the contest and had six on net, but were unable to capitalize on any, while the Warriors (4-2-5 overall, 0-1-3 Landmark) took three shots, two in the first half.

With nearly half the conference season now past, the Warriors are in seventh place, one point behind Wilkes, which holds the sixth and final spot for the Landmark Conference Championship.

Lycoming surpassed its program record for draws with the tie, surpassing the mark set by the 2008 team, which went 5-8-4.

Payce Korpis and Paige Harrison combined to make three saves for the Eagles.

The Warriors get back on the field on Tuesday, Oct. 10, when they head to Juniata College for a 7 p.m. Landmark Conference game.
