Warriors fall to Moravian in five

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa.- Three Lycoming College volleyball players posted double-figure kills to lead the Lycoming College volleyball team, which narrowly fell to Moravian University, 3-2 (25-20, 20-25, 27-25, 22-25, 15-10), in Landmark Conference action at Lamade Gym on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 7.
 
Sophomore Cameron Upcraft (Spring Mills, Pa./Penns Valley) posted 14 kills, hitting .321, to go with five blocks, junior Brynne Bisel (Julian, Pa./Bald Eagle Area) added 13 kills, four aces and 12 digs, and junior Jessica Ahart (Boyertown, Pa./Boyertown Area) also notched 13 kills for the Warriors (11-4 overall, 1-3 Landmark).
 
Junior Ali Koval (Mansfield, Pa./North Penn-Mansfield) posted 27 digs to move within a dig of reaching 300 digs for the second time in her career, as she was one of four Warriors to finish with double-digit digs, along with junior Kendall Myers (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Trinity) (14), Bisel (12) and first-year Haley Balgavy (Warrenton, Va./Kettle Run) (11), who also added 19 assists in her first career double-double.
 
First-year Lindsay Heimlich (Bergen, N.Y./Mercy) posted 23 assists, four digs, two blocks and two kills.
 
The match was evenly contested throughout, with 23 ties and six lead changes, with the third set featuring six of those ties and three lead changes. The Greyhounds (8-9 overall, 1-1 Landmark) won the last set, though, hitting at a .353 clip (6-0-17).
 
Payton Reuber had 12 kills and seven blocks to lead the Greyhounds, who had nine fewer kills than the Warriors. Ally Plitnick had 35 assists and 12 digs, Sam Love notched 25 digs and Gabbie Reigner had 16.
 
The Warriors are back on the court on Tuesday, Oct. 10, when they host the nation's No. 1-ranked team, Juniata College, at 7 p.m., in Landmark Conference action in Lamade Gym.
