Warriors tie Gettysburg in non-conference game

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa.- Senior Obiazie Chinatu (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin East) scored in the 79th minute to help the Lycoming College men's soccer team tie it in a 1-1 non-conference draw against Gettysburg College on Tuesday evening, Oct. 24, at UPMC Field.

Chinatu scored his second goal of the season off a chaotic corner. After a scrum from the corner was settled, junior Owen Magee (Selinsgrove, Pa./ Selinsgrove Area) took a hard low shot that was saved by the Bullets' goalkeeper and deflected to Chinatu, who capitalized on it.

The Warriors (10-3-5 overall) had 13 corner kicks and eight shots in the contest, as they held possession for much of the second half.

The Bullets' forward Michael Sack was credited with the Gettysburg (4-7-4 overall) goal in the 61st minute.

Senior Nick Wilke (Mercerville, N.J./Notre Dame) made four saves in the game for the Warriors and Gettysburg keeper Kevin Muhlic also stopped four shots.

The Warriors will be on the road against Elizabethtown College for their final regular season Landmark Conference matchup on Saturday, Oct. 28 at 1 p.m.
