Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Regionally-ranked Warriors down Wilkes, 1-0

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa.- First-year Aidan Stillman (Silver Spring, Md./Albert Einstein) scored his first career goal in the 53rd minute to lift the Lycoming College men's soccer team to a 1-0 win over Wilkes University on Tuesday night, Oct. 17, to clinch a slot in the Landmark Conference Championship and stay at the top of the conference standings with two games left in the conference slate.

Stillman scored on a through ball into the box from senior Pius Atubire (Arlington, Va./Yorktown), drilling a shot into the lower left netting to give Lycoming (9-3-4 overall, 6-0-1 Landmark) the lead. Wilkes managed just two shots after that, neither on net, as the Warriors locked down on defense to help senior Nick Wilke (Mercerville, N.J./Notre Dame) earn his ninth shutout of the year, as he made one save on the evening. Wilke is now tied for third in program history with Chris Solecki (2018) and Josh Gildea (2015) with the nine shutouts this year, two away from the program record of 11 set by Connor Keenan in 2014.

The Warriors had 10 corners in the game and took 12 shots, with sophomore Thomas Greyer (Havre De Grace, Md./Quince Orchard) taking two shots on goal.

Nick Kinzler stopped six shots for Wilkes (4-6-5 overall, 1-4-2 Landmark).

The Warriors are back at UPMC Field on Saturday, Oct. 21, at 1 p.m., when they face fourth-place Drew University in another key Landmark Conference match-up.
