Regionally-ranked Warriors draw with second-place Catholic on the road

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa.- Senior Joey Francis (Camp Hill, Pa./Cedar Cliff) headed in a goal in the 41st minute to help the regionally-ranked Lycoming College men's soccer team draw with the Catholic University of America, 1-1, in a match to stay in first-place in the Landmark Conference on Saturday, Oct. 14 at Carlini Field.

Senior Joey Francis (Camp Hill, Pa./ Cedar Cliff) flicked in his third goal of the season off a free kick from senior Dylan Sloan (Essex, Md./ Archbishop) from just outside the penalty area, helping the Warriors (8-3-4 overall, 5-0-1 Landmark) get on the board first. The Cardnials (7-5-2 overall, 4-0-2 Landmark) scored their goal in the 69th minute of the game, coming unassisted from Gordie Bernlohr.

Senior goalkeeper Nick Wilke (Mercerville, N.J./Notre Dame) finished with eight saves as Catholic took 23 shots. The Warriors forced Catholic keeper Owen Allegro to make four saves off 10 shots.

The Warriors are back in action on Tuesday, Oct. 17, when they face Wilkes University in Landmark Conference action at 7 p.m.
