WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – After a trip to the 2022 MAC Freedom semifinals, the Lycoming College women's lacrosse team is slated to finish fifth in the MAC Freedom Women's Lacrosse Coaches' Preseason Poll, the conference office in Annville, Pa., announced on Thursday, Jan. 26.
 
Stevens (62), the defending MAC Freedom Champions, topped the poll with six first-place votes, followed by FDU-Florham (59) the conference runners-up with the remaining three first-place votes. Misericordia (49), Arcadia (40), and Lycoming (35) round out the top half of the poll and DeSales (32), King's (20), Wilkes (19) and Delaware Valley (8) finish the poll.
 
The Warriors finished the 2022 season 10-9, their best record since 2017, earning the No. 4 seed in the MAC Freedom Championship.
 
Sophomore Katie Maguire (Garnerville, N.Y./Albertus Magnus) returns after earning the 2022 MAC Freedom Rookie of the Year, leading the Warriors with 58 goals and 61 points. Senior midfielder Tess Arnold (Elmira, N.Y./Elmira) returns after earning Second Team All-MAC Freedom accolades, as she was the team's leader with 55 ground balls and 27 caused turnovers and senior Madison Wineburg (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville Area) returns after earning Honorable Mention All-MAC Freedom honors.
 
Junior goaltender Zoe Stauffer (Litiz, Pa./Warwick), a two-time MAC Freedom Defensive Player of the Week, returns after setting the Warriors' single-season saves record, recording 232 stops as a sophomore.
 
The Warriors open the 2023 season under fourth-year head coach Sarah Quigley on Saturday, Feb. 25, at Elizabethtown College at 4 p.m.
