Rei Saar (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville Area) led the Lycoming College women's tennis team with a season-opening singles win, as the team fell to Alfred University, 8-1, on Tuesday, Sept. 6.

Saar posted a dramatic come-from-behind win at No. 3 singles, falling in the first set, 3-6, before coming back with a 6-0 win to set up a superset tiebreaker, where she downed Anna Gwozdz, 10-3.

Greta Kimble (South Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport Area) also reached a tiebreaker, winning her second set, 6-2, before falling in the tiebreaker, 10-8, at No. 6 singles to Alexis Giordano.

The Warriors fall to 0-1 and Alfred improved to 2-0.

The Warriors get back on the court on Tuesday, Sept. 13, when they host Susquehanna University at 4 p.m. at Brandon Park.
