WILLAMSPORT, Pa. – First-year
Emma Kelchner (Nescopeck, Pa./Central Columbia) led the Lycoming College women's tennis team through its first win, winning both her singles and doubles matches in a 5-4 victory over Susquehanna University on Tuesday, Sept. 13, at Brandon Park, just Lycoming's second win over Susquehanna since 2002.

Today's win for the Warriors (1-1 overall) over Susquehanna (0-1 overall) was also the first win for interim head coach
Joel Reid.

Kelchner and doubles partner, sophomore
Sarah Lanphear (Chittenango, N.Y./Chittenango) defeated Susquehanna's Eliza Mahoney and Olivia Tepes at No. 3 doubles, 8-4, as Susquehanna held a 2-1 lead through doubles play. In the No. 6 singles position, Kelchner was first off the court, defeating Tepes, 6-2, 6-0.

Hannah Seebold (New Columbia, Pa./Milton Area) took care of Grace Tepes in the No.1 singles position, finishing her match, 6-2, 6-4, to give Lycoming a 3-2 lead.

Emily Wolfgang at No. 2 forced a third set tiebreaker, falling in the first game 1-6, but coming back and taking the next set, 6-3 and the superset tiebreaker, 10-6, to make it 4-3.

At No. 3 singles, sophomore
Rei Saar (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville Area) beat out Kristen Blair in three sets, as she also fell in the first set but won all six games in the second set and rallied by winning seven of the last 10 points in the superset tiebreaker to win, 10-6.

The Warriors return to the court on Saturday, Sept. 18, when they head to the MAC Individual Championships at 9 a.m. in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.
