WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - In a near point-for-point game over four sets, the Lycoming College volleyball team held off La Roche University, 3-1 (25-20, 26-28, 27-25, 25-22), on Saturday, Sept. 3, as they swept the Lycoming Tip-Off Classic weekend at Lamade Gym.

Senior
Elizabeth Kelson (Denville, N.J./Morris Catholic) and sophomore
Brynne Bisel (Julian, Pa./Bald Eagle Area) each reached double-digit kills, as Kelson had 15 and Bisel 12. Kelson finished the afternoon hitting .406 with seven total blocks for 19.5 points to lead the team. Bisel added 13 digs for her first double-double of the year.

Sophomore
Ellie Norton (Morgantown, Pa./Twin Valley) led the afternoon with 19 assists and sophomore
Marykatelin Button (Avon, N.Y./Avon) added 14. Sophomore
Kendall Myers recorded five aces, finishing second on the team with 17 digs and classmate
Ali Koval (Mansfield, Pa./North Penn-Mansfield) led the team with 25 digs, the most of her Tip-Off run.

Both teams had nearly identical stat lines, as the Warriors (4-0 overall) hit for a .104 percentage and the Redhawks were just behind at .097, with both teams grabbing 82 digs. Lycoming had five more aces and La Roche one more block.

The Warriors took the first set, but La Roche outlasted the Warriors in the second set, 26-28. Lycoming came back with a dramatic 27-25 win in the third set and closed it out with another come-from-behind 25-22 win in the fourth.

Over the weekend, the Warriors also beat Clarks Summit University, 3-0, and Hilbert College, 3-1.

The Warriors return to the court on Wednesday, Sept. 7, when they host Misericordia University in a MAC Freedom matchup at 7 p.m. in Lamade Gym.
