Green scores hat trick in shutout of Wolves

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – A career-best three goals for senior Bella Green (South Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport Area) lifted the Lycoming College women's soccer team to a 4-0 shutout of Keuka College, on Saturday, Sept. 10, at UPMC Field, helping the team out to its best start in program history at 4-0.

Green's first goal came unassisted at 19:56 with some fancy footwork above the box , before shooting from just right of the penalty arch. Her second goal came with two minutes remaining in the first half, unassisted from outside the left goal post. Her final, assisted by her sister, first-year Claudia Green (South Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport Area), came from outside the top right corner of the box after Claudia Green caught the ball past center field and made the cross back into the Wolves' defensive zone for Bella Green to clean up.

The three goals helped Green reach 21 in her career, just the seventh player in program history to reach the mark, while she also became the seventh player in program history with 50 career points with her second goal of the game, finishing the contest with 52.

First-year Rhandie Jessell (Williamsport, Pa./Loyalsock Township) recorded her first career goal as a Warrior (4-0 overall), finishing on a pass from first-year Camryn Smeigh (New Bloomfield, Pa./West Perry) in the 90th minute.

Sophomore goalkeeper Abbey Gerasimoff (Bloomburg, Pa./Bloomsburg) made three saves to Pelcher's six, as Gerasimoff improved to 4-0 with three shutouts.

The Warriors return to the field on Sunday, Sept. 11, when they host SUNY Delhi for a 2 p.m. kickoff at UPMC Field.
