Warriors shutout the Knights in 2022 opener

NEWBURGH, N.Y. – Held scoreless for 54 minutes, the Lycoming College men's soccer team found the back of the net twice in a four-minute span to down Mount Saint Mary College, 2-0, on Thursday night, Sept. 1, at Kaplan Field.
 
Sophomore Owen Magee (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove) scored his first career goal at the 54:51 mark off a pass by sophomore Sean Campbell (Catonsville, Md./Catonsville).
 
First-year Keller Chamovitz (Sewickly, Pa./Quaker Valley) put the Warriors up two just three minutes later off a quick shot by Campbell, with first-year Christian Woobay (Gaithersburg, Md./Quince Orchard) on the assist.
 
Sophomore goalkeeper Nick Wilke (Mercersville, N.J./Notre Dame) earned his first shutout of the season, making three saves on four shots faced. Knights goalkeeper Caesar Martinez made two saves.
 
The Warriors return home on Sunday, Sept. 4, when they host Johns Hopkins University, who received votes in the initial United Soccer Coaches' poll, at 2 p.m. at UPMC Field.
