WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – First-year
Katie Maguire (Garnerville, N.Y./Albertus Magnus) scored three goals for her 11
th hat trick of the season to lead the Lycoming College women's lacrosse team, which fell to Stevens, 19-4, in MAC Freedom action on Saturday, April 30, at UPMC Field.
Despite the result, the Warriors (9-8 overall, 4-4 MAC Freedom) wrapped up the No. 4 seed in the MAC Freedom Championship and will host No. 5 DeSales University on Monday, May 2, at 7 p.m. at UPMC Field.
Sophomore
Zoe Stuaffer (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) stopped 14 shots in the loss, giving her 215 saves on the season, which is third in school history and just 12 from the school record of 227 set by Laurie Rooney in 2003.
Senior
Erika Boyer (East Greenville, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) added an assist to give her 95 career points. First-year
Kailey Stocker (Ringwood, N.J./Lakeland Regional) had a goal and junior
Tess Arnold (Elmira, N.Y./Elmira) had an assist and three ground balls.
Maguire scored her first goal on a free-position shot 10 minutes into the first quarter on a free-position shot, then added her second off the give from Boyer with 21 seconds left in the first to make it 5-2. The Warriors kept it a three-goal game until midway through the second before Stevens started an 11-goal run to finish the game.
Camryn Rogers led the Ducks with five goals and an assist and Morgan Westerby added five goals. Emily Leiby posted two goals, two assists and 10 draw controls.
Lauren Cunniff stopped 10 shots for the Ducks in the first three quarters and Erica Strojny added two stops in the fourth quarter.
