WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – A run of five straight goals in the first 18 minutes of the second half helped the Lycoming College women's lacrosse team rebound after DeSales University tied the game late in the second quarter, as No. 4 Lycoming held on for a 13-9 win over No. 5 DeSales in the MAC Freedom Championship first round on Monday night, May 2, at UPMC Field.

Erin Henn (Ronkonkoma, N.Y./Sayville) and
Katie Maguire (Garnerville, N.Y./Albertus Magnus) each had four goals and fellow rookie
Kailey Stocker (Ringwood, N.J./Lakeland Regional) also added a goal, as the Warrior rookies accounted for nine goals in the game. Senior
Erika Boyer (East Greenville, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) had three goals, moving within two of 100 points in her career, and junior
Tess Arnold (Elmira, N.Y./Elmira) scored the other one.

The Warriors (10-8 overall) move on to face top-seeded FDU-Florham (15-2 overall) at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4, at Robert T. Shields Field, in the conference semifinals.

Zoe Stauffer (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) was again tough to beat in goal, as she stopped 11 shots in her 10
th win of the year, as she moved within a save of the school's single-season record of 227 set by Laurie Rooney in 2003.

Maguire grabbed seven draw controls and four ground balls and Stocker and junior
Madison Wineburg (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville Area) each also grabbed four ground balls.

With the score tied going into the third quarter, Henn found Arnold for the go-ahead goal with 13:09 left in the period before Boyer netted an unassisted goal 37 seconds later. Henn delivered two free-position goals and then Foresman picked up a ground ball and sprinted into the offensive zone, finding Stocker for a crafty score with 12:52 left in the fourth quarter to make it 10-5.

DeSales closed within three with 8:44 left, but Maguire connected on a free-position goal with 6:43 left before the two teams alternated two goals each in the final moments.

Lycoming took a 5-1 lead midway through the second quarter after Henn scored unassisted with 8:46 left, but DeSales used a four-goal run in the next six minutes to tie the game as it headed into the second half.

Marina Bradley led the Bulldogs with three goals, two assists and nine draw controls. Michaela Regan made 14 saves for the Bulldogs.
