CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – First-year
Rachel Daub (Honesdale, Pa./Honesdale Area) had four hits, two runs and two RBI to lead the Lycoming College softball team in a MAC Freedom doubleheader on Saturday, April 30, at DeSales University, as DeSales posted an 11-3 win in the first game and a 6-4 win in the second.

Daub went 1-for-2 with a double and two runs in the first game before going 3-for-4 with two RBI to lead the Warriors (8-24 overall, 1-13 MAC Freedom).

Lycoming brought the tying run to the plate in the seventh inning of the second game, but weren't able to complete a comeback after being down 6-0 after three innings.

The Warriors got going in the fourth when Klosko singled to lead off before sophomore
Rachel DeWolfe (New Cumberland, Pa./Cedar Cliff) singled with one out. With two outs, junior
Kaleigh Kinley (Bellefonte, Pa./Bald Eagle Area) drove in a run with an opposite field single.

In the sixth, the Warriors rallied, as junior
Madalyn Bechdel (Beech Creek, Pa./Central Mountain) started the rally with a pinch-hit single with two outs before Kinley walked. Senior
Kacee Reitz (Milton, Pa./Milton Area) drove in Bechdel with a single up the middle. Russell followed with a bunt single and Daub drove in two runs with a single.

In the seventh, junior
Morgan Wetzel (Mill Hall, Pa./Central Mountain) led off with a single up the middle, but the last three batters were retired to end the rally.

Wetzel went 2-for-4 for the Warriors. DeSales (13-20 overall, 8-8 MAC Freedom) was led by two hits and a double from Lily Trexler. Victoria Agnolli and Reilly Kerr each homered for the Bulldogs.

Junior
Payton Whary (Coal Township, Pa./Shamokin Area) (4-8) pitched the first 2 2/3 innings before sophomore
Kylie Russell (Jersey Shore, Pa./Jersey Shore Area) pitched 3 1/3 innings of two-hit relief. She struck out two.

Alanna Hartzell (3-7) earned the win, allowing three earned runs in 5 2/3 innings. Tabitha Lawless earned the save, allowing two hits.

The Warriors got out to an early lead in the first game, starting the game with a pair of base hits from Reitz and Russell before a pair of fielder's choices. With two outs, senior
Morgan Klosko (Kingston, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) singled to right to drive in a run.

Wilkes scored three runs in the bottom of the inning and five in the second before the Warriors got back on the board in the third, as Daub doubled and Wetzel posted an opposite field two-out single to make it 8-2. DeSales scored twice more in the bottom of the inning before senior
Angie King (Cooperstown, Pa./Maplewood) scored on an error before first-year
Avery Eiswerth (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport Area) hit a two-out RBI double to center field. DeSales, however, got a run in the fourth, leading to the run-rule win.

Eight of the nine Warriors in the lineup had singles in the game. Nicole Secara led the Bulldogs, going 4-for-4 with two RBI, while four Bulldogs scored twice.

Heather Hall (2-7) earned the win, allowing seven hits and two earned runs in four innings. Eiswerth (2-7) pitched a complete game for the Warriors.

The Warriors wrap up the 2022 season on Sunday, May 1, when they head to Wilkes University for a 12 p.m. MAC Freedom doubleheader.
