WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – First-years
Rachel Daub (Honesdale, Pa./Honesdale Area) and
Avery Eiswerth (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport Area) each had two hits to lead the Lycoming College in the second game, but a hot-hitting Susquehanna University swept a pair of games, 10-0 in six innings and 12-5 in five innings, at the Shangraw Athletic Complex on Thursday afternoon, March 22.

Daub, the Warriors' leadoff hitter, went 2-for-2 with a run and Eiswerth finished 2-for-2 with two runs as Lycoming posted nine hits in the nightcap.

After Susquehanna (8-4 overall) scored five in the first inning, the Warriors (4-8 overall) got on the board with a pair of runs in the third. Eiswerth led off with a single, moved to second on a sacrifice and after a walk by senior
Kacee Reitz (Milton, Pa./Milton Area), both advanced a base on a passed pall before junior
Morgan Wetzel (Mill Hall, Pa./Central Mountain) walked to load the bases for senior
Morgan Klosko (Kingston, Pa./Wyoming Valley West), who delivered a two-run single through the right side.

Susquehanna took a 10-2 lead after the top of the fourth, but the Warriors fought back with three runs in the bottom of the innings. Senior
Angie King (Cooperstown, Pa./Maplewood) singled to center field to lead off and Eiswerth and Daub followed with one-out singles to load the bases for Reitz, who singled through the left side before Wetzel singled up the middle for two RBI.

Morgan Henry hit a first-inning grand slam, finishing 1-for-2 with five RBI and Erin Bean went 4-for-4 with three runs and two RBI to lead the River Hawks. Katie Murphy (5-1) earned the win in relief, getting five strikeouts in as many batters.

King took the loss for the Warriors, allowing 12 hits and striking out two.

In the first game, Katie Murphy tossed a one-hitter, striking out eight, to help the River Hawks post a 10-0 win.

Henry went 3-for-4 with a homer and three RBI and Kiara Bryant went 2-for-2 with a run and four RBI to lead the River Hawks.

Junior
Madalyn Bechdel (Beech Creek, Pa./Central Mountain) notched a double into the right-center field gap for the Warriors in the third inning.

Eiswerth took the loss, allowing three hits in 1/3 inning.

The Warriors get back on the field on Saturday, March 26, when they host Stevens in a MAC Freedom doubleheader set to start at 1 p.m. at UPMC Field.
